Tampa Jam Mens Lacrosse Tournament
History

The Tampa Jam is a mens open tournament that was created in 1994 by Tampa mens team players Jim Shaler and Dan Rice.  Over the past 10 years the tournament has seen high caliber teams such as LaxWorld/DeWALT, Charlotte Advantage, Orlando, Palm Beach, Ft. Lauderdale, QC Lax, AST, Li'l Abners, Toronto, Charleston, Great Atlantic, T-Bones, Gin Mill, Florida State, Lincoln Park, Lakeshore, Nashville, Graduate, Raiders, Atlanta, Southern Empire, South Jersey, Reebok, and the Vail Lacrosse Club.

In 2004 the tournament was moved to a new facility in St Petersburg less than one mile from the beach.  The facility includes three immaculate fields with lights and an oversized scoreboard.  The hotels and tournament parties are within walking distance of each other on St Pete Beach, and are less than 3 miles from the tournament fields.

For the 2004 Tampa Jam the weather was a sunny 85 degrees, perfect weather for lacrosse in February.   If you are looking for a preseason tournament with great competition, excellent fields, and beautiful weather, you have come to the right place.

As of September 2004, 12 teams have committed to the 2005 tournament and the goal is set for 16.
